CEO, CJLF, and the Piagentini family were co-amici on a brief in the Second Circuit in the joined cases of Muntaqim v. Coombe and Hayden v. Pataki. The brief is here. The Second Circuit opinion in Hayden is here. Hayden has an extension of time until September 1 to file a certiorari petition in the Supreme Court. Muntaqim's suit was dismissed on the ground that he is not a resident of New York, even though he has been incarcerated there since 1972 and should remain so for the rest of his life.
