The US Supreme Court announced three opinions today, all in civil cases.  On the orders list, there was one grant of certiorari, also in a civil case. Burnside v. Walters, No 12-7892, is a federal civil procedure case arising out of a 42 USC ยง1983 suit against the police claiming a wrongful arrest.  The question has to do with whether procedural amendments in the Prison Litigation Reform Act preclude the plaintiff from amending his complaint to avoid dismissal in the screening process.  The Prisons & Corrections Section of the Michigan Bar has the certiorari petition here.
