Does New York City Have Recall Elections?

Did some quick checking.  Apparently not.  Looks like you folks in NYC are stuck with the huge mistake made by a majority of your fellow citizens for the balance of his term.

Maybe he could take a sabbatical on Mars.

Does NYC have a city council? Maybe some sort of "no confidence" vote. I wish that Westminster procedural device would have made it in the Constitution, would really help with getting a new President. Or trip to Mars. Whatever is quicker.

New York City Charter, Chapter 1, Section 9: "The mayor may be removed from office by the governor upon charges and after service upon him of a copy of the charges and an opportunity to be heard in his defense."

The Charter makes no further specification of what "charges" are necessary or what the governor must find in order to remove a mayor.

Does (intentionally/knowingly/recklessly) inciting violence against NYC's Finest suffice?

Paul, given who the power is vested in, I think the substantive question you pose is moot.
