So how can a turkey get on a plane? Simple. The passenger provided proper documentation proving the fowl was indeed their emotional support animal, so Delta let the bird on board, and even gave it its own seat....
To [Donald] Trump, a turkey on an airplane is probably just plain stupid, and it is. Unfortunately, The Donald probably doesn't have a clue about why this is happening or what to do about it.
The reason that a turkey can score a seat on a Delta Air Lines flight is because of policies of the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice.
The Civil Rights Division has developed guidelines that can allow a turkey, or ferret, or pig, or any other animal to be a psychiatric service animal. Airlines, fearful of litigation or the heavy boot of the Justice Department, capitulate to any joker with a note from a doctor and a pig on a leash.
When I was an attorney at DOJ, I saw some questionable policies, but I never saw one that suggested hardcore insanity.

US attorneys are not the "same good people" as the Civil Rights Division. See DOJ org chart here: http://www.justice.gov/sites/default/files/jmd/legacy/2014/06/23/dojorg.pdf. And judges, of course, are a totally separate branch of government.
Amusing nevertheless. -Jim
Questions:
Who cleans up after it invariably does its business on a long flight?
What happens if it gets unruly?
Who (if anyone) has to sit on the other side of it? Is that yet another fare that the airline has to eat? Because I would be one unhappy passenger if I had to sit in the same row.
What if " roast turkey" is the in flight meal?
We have become so "civilized", we are turning our air travel into Central American buses.
It is official. In the medical/psychiatric community-anything is available for a price.
Documentation that a turkey is an emotional support animal....that will be $195 please-cash only.
I'm assuming this guy already was a card-carrying member of the medical marijuana community.
I am worried that this could be one of the turkeys that Prez Obama has pardoned during his mass clemency campaign; and, ever more worrisome, we all know the sky-high recidivism rate for those turkeys with a criminal history.
As a prerequisite to obtaining a turkey as an emotional support animal, I imagine a duly sworn affidavit was required stating that no dogs, cats,or barnyard pigs were available.
