Boies Firm Disqualified in Epstein Victim Suit

Jacob Gershman reports in the WSJ:

A federal judge ruled Wednesday that David Boies' law firm can't represent an alleged victim of Jeffrey Epstein in her defamation suit against Alan Dershowitz, escalating a feud between two of the country's most prominent attorneys.

In the ruling, Judge Preska said Mr. Boies and his law firm's partners are likely to be essential trial witnesses. She said Ms. Giuffre must retain other counsel because Boies Schiller lacks the "necessary independence to pursue a line of questioning that might damage the professional reputation of the name partner of their firm."
Perry Mason could get away with that, but David Boies cannot. There are certain advantages that come with being a fictional character.
