The absurdly protracted process for reviewing capital cases in California racked up two more miscarriages of justice over the weekend. Two more murderers who should have been executed years ago died of natural causes. AP story is here.

Year after year, we have gone to California's dysfunctional Legislature with proposals to fix the problem, and year after year they have summarily killed them. Looks like we have to go back to the ballot in 2010.
